Join us for a very special evening as we welcome Ektoras Tsiakkas of Tsiakkas Winery—widely considered one of the finest producers in Cyprus—for a guided tasting of five exceptional wines, each paired with a Mediterranean-inspired tapas dish from the Azita kitchen.

Located in the mountainous village of Pelendri in the Troodos Mountains, Tsiakkas Winery crafts wines from organically farmed, high-altitude vineyards—some reaching up to 1,400 metres above sea level, planted on original rootstocks. The result? Wines of striking purity, tension, and character.

The Tsiakkas family focuses on the native grape varieties of Cyprus, interpreting them through a lens of minimal intervention and deep respect for terroir.

The Tasting Lineup:

Tsiakkas Xynisteri (100% Xynisteri, White) Fresh and zesty with citrus peel, green apple, and stony minerality. A beautifully crisp white that thrives in the high, cool vineyards of Troodos.

Tsiakkas Promara (100% Promara, White) A rare indigenous white with generous texture and subtle richness. Expect stone fruits, wild herbs, and a gently spiced, waxy finish.

Tsiakkas Vamvakada (100% Maratheftiko, Red) Structured and aromatic, this native red (locally known as Vamvakada) shows dark cherry, violet, spice, and firm but refined tannins.

Tsiakkas Porfyros (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Maratheftiko, Red) A bold, expressive blend with notes of forest fruits, graphite, dried herbs, and elegant oak. A perfect meeting of native and classic varieties.

Tsiakkas Commandaria (Xynisteri & Mavro, Sweet) Cyprus’s world-famous dessert wine, made from sun-dried grapes and aged in old oak barrels. Deeply layered with notes of dried fig, caramel, spiced orange, and roasted nuts.

Each wine will be paired with a small plate that captures the vibrant, rustic flavours of Cypriot and Eastern Mediterranean cuisine, including a dessert designed to highlight the elegance and richness of the Commandaria.
